Project Title: Seamless PCS 7 Migration at Anglo American's Mogalakwena South

Client: Anglo American Platinum

Project Overview:

Anglo American Platinum, a leading global platinum group metals (PGMs) producer, faced a challenge at their Mogalakwena South operation. Their existing control systems, running on Allan Bradley RSLogix with Adroit SCADA, needed a migration to the latest Siemens PCS 7 technology to maintain product support levels, operational efficiency and technological competitiveness.

Challenge:

The migration had to be executed seamlessly without causing significant production interruptions, ensuring a smooth transition to the new system.  Plant Sections would typically be migrated in 4 to 5 day shutdowns with complete re-commissioning of field equipment.
